2010 Queensland Landcare Conference PDF Print E-mail

The Australia Pacific Earth Charter +10 Festival is a celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the Earth Charter at the Peace Palace, The Hague and highlights Brisbane’s continuing leadership role in promoting sustainable communities. 

Like other internationally significant events held in Brisbane - the Asia Pacific Earth Charter Conference in 2001 and the 2006 Earth Dialogues where Mikhail Gorbachev was the special guest – the 2010 Earth Charter+10 Festival will inspire and empower the communities of Brisbane and the Asia Pacific region to work together to create a more just, sustainable and peaceful global society.

Koala Action Pine Rivers Inc

Low Carbon Living Starts at Home PDF Print E-mail

H.O.P.E. (Householders Options to Protect the Environment) Australia has recognized the need to help all Queenslanders reduce their carbon footprint by introducing free booklets that demonstrate simple steps to a healthier home.

President of Hope Australia, Frank Ondrus, said the organisation aims to provide awareness and information to educate the community about important environmental issues.

He said, We encourage people to take responsibility for their relationship with the environment in their daily lives.

The Low Carbon Living Starts at Home booklet was developed to show residents simple and effective measures to reduce electricity and water consumption at home.
